New Versions of the HP Authentication Suite of applications have been released as of 16th July 2024 - See What's New!
There are several tools that HP provide for you to bulk import / Claim customers printers, many rely on running apps on a Windows PC on the same Local Area Network as the Printers, and sometimes this may not be possible for you.
Instead the HPCC has a Beta Option called Device discovery.
Here is my simplified explanation - however you should read the link below for a comprehensive explanation
Basically, there are 2 Options for Device Discovery
Option 1.
Using the multicast discovery protocol (WS-Discovery), all you need to do is make sure you claim at least one Device using whatever method that is available to you, once you claim one Device you can nominate it as what they call the "Primary Device", and this Primary device will crawl through the Local Lan and Find all HP Devices so they can be Claimed and added to HPCC.
Option 2.
Use device announcement agent protocol (DAA), this is about the same as Option one, except someone needs to not only claim the Primary Device, but that device HOSTNAME must read hp-print-mgmt. Once this is done it scans Local Lan for all HP Devices and provides you the ability to Claim them.
